A lot of people have been asking me how to make time to meditate. Meditation doesn’t have to be complicated or lengthy. Start practicing by just sitting quietly and clearing your mind of thought. If a thought comes in…picture blowing it away. It may help to look slightly upwards with your eyes closed.
Don’t judge yourself for not staying in the gap (the space between thoughts). It takes time to learn how to quiet the mind. You can focus on your breathing as well … sometimes it helps when you have something to focus on other than your thoughts. Similar to chanting.
If you find it challenging, try doing a type of guided meditation. Picture yourself on a beach with the waves crashing on shore and the sun shining while a cool breeze fills the air with a refreshing ocean smell.
